Well, I picked it up today. Taurus PT-111 9mm Millenuim Pro.

2 12 round clips

It's small, and affordable, and should make for a nice beginner gun.

You planning on shooting someone at pizza night to break it in?
Did someone mention a shoot-out at the O.K. Corral? I'll bring my "crowd pleaser" Remington 870 with 18 1/2" barrel and pistol grip. :yup:

Man I don't want to get shot by anything but a street sweeper shotty blast has got to sting. Sounds like a day of shooting is coming up.

The Taurus looks nice - now oil it up, and pick a day next weekend for some break-in on it. Do you prefer the Carson Range, Pyramid Range, or find your own range in the hills?

As for the blackpowder - go to the Gunshow at the Hilton..they will have it. :yup:

Put 100 rounds through the gun today. Started off pulling low and to the right, but as I got used to it and corrected my procedure, I was grouping shots in 4-5 inch clusters close to the bullseye. Shoots great and reliably.

Also shot a Desert Eagle 9mm. Less recoil, and very accurate. I may look into one of these as a full size part of my future collection. Also shot my friends AK47. Surprisingly had alot less recoil than I was anticipating. I was fairly accurate with it, excluding the clip I went through shooting from the hip Rambo style.... lol.

Found a great spot to shoot today less than 10 minutes from my house. There is a spot to shoot directly into a dirt wall, almost like a circle that surrounds you. We used some real esate signs, cut some cardboard out and taped the targets to the signs.

Where's it at? I'm in your neck of the desert. :)
If you are in the Mark Twain area, head east towards Silver Springs on Hwy 50. Just after the casino and gas station on the left, hwy 50 turns towards the right. Just before that right turn, you will see a dirt road going north. Turn onto it and follow it back about 2 miles. The shooting area is quite obvious.....

if you really want to learn your weapon find some schools that teach tactical pistol fighting.

most folks that own a gun don't understand it's potential.
by that I mean , it's like martial arts, if you don't train it's pretty much just talk and just enough knowledge to get yourself really hurt,

just like owning a pet, you have to feed it (ammo), clean it, take it for walks (shoot it), train it to do what you want (actual real life training, not static range time) and buy it toys, like extra mags, holsters, cleaning kit, and usually better sights.

but all in all your choice was not a bad one for a statrter pistol. when you outgrow it, don't sell it, just buy a better weapon (upscale)

oh and 8 rounds of 45 suck when your faced with 10 attackers, but most folks will never see even one so just have fun with your toy.

Way to bring up some old posts...lol.

I don't even have the Taurus anymore. Sold it to buy a Springfield XD-9, and I own 2 other handguns at this point, a Walther p22, and a KelTec P3AT, all on my permit.
