I didn't want to hijack Mallfords buil thread but wanted to talk about this.
This thread is the best description I've ever seen Cut and Turn .

So how does it work on Dana axles?

I like the way the guy in the Cruiser C&T made a reference mark before he cut anything.
The biggest difference is that the dana axle "C" sleeves outside while the Toy axle "Ball" sleeves inside.

Most of the work would be grinding off the perches and shock mounts, then re-welding them.

I still think 8 lug axle on half price day is way to go! :yup: And buy a 14 bolt to match.

My 14 bolt was $80 on half price day. My D60 was $1100 delivered from Kansas City. Ford only did my kind of D60 from 86-90 I believe. They went to ball joints after that. :barf:

Here is another detailed description . I ground down the welds on the Cs on my Dana 44 and then narrowed the housing and a friend rotated them and welded them back on with 5 degrees of caster.
